Hello,
I am trying to figure out my complete time line of how I will travel for 3 months and I don't want to buy a pass until I know for sure how I want to get everywhere. I would like to make reservations for an overnight train between Berlin and Copenhagen. Do I need a pass to do so? Or can I just call and reserve and then show my pass on the date of departure?

Also, does anyone know if I need a reservation for the train going from Oslo to Bergen at 8am?

If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it, thanks a lot! :D

No, you don't need a railpass to make reservations only.

And just a reminder: There's no direct night train Berlin - Kobenhavn but you can use the https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/berlin-malmoe-en-300/58 Berlin-Night-Express to Malmö and continue with Oresundstag to Kobenhavn. However, you can't make reservations for that train online or via phone (to my knowledge) - do it at a train station instead (as an extra you will save money for delivery).
