Hi.
Sorry, no information for now. But calculate 10-15 EUR for a bed in a 6-persons-couchette.

I was just going to post something to that effect! We travelled on a Thursday ultimately so needed to change trains, but this had the bonus of giving us a few hours to stretch our legs and enjoy breakfast in Zagreb on the way :)

hi there,

thanks for all the great info!

I'm going to be in croatia in august and am considering taking this train on the 25th august but I can't find any info about cost anywhere on the net, do we know anything about cost without having an interail pass?

I'm planning on travelling from split to the following places budapest, vienna and krakow. As I'm 26 the pass for 5 days of travel within 10 days is £209 which seems like I could possibly pay more for the pass than just tickets without the pass. Does anyone have any advice for this? Its hard to compare whats better, buying the pass or tickets on their own if I can't find ticket prices :((

thanks for any help!

katharine

p.s I forgot to say I'm a full time student, can I get any discounts on travel with my student card?

Hi Katharine.

As we are an InterRail forum we only have the information about InterRail fares.
Mmmmh... maybe just contact the national rail companies directly by mail or check their websites. I know, it is really hard to find the fares for normal train tickets.

Hi,

Do you have any information on the 2011 timetable? I'm planning on getting this train in July, but on a Friday, so hoping it will be running on that day. If it isn't, would I have to stay in Zagreb for a night?

Thanks for your help.

Hi!

Timings for this summer:

Split dep: 1709
Knin dep: 1937
Zagreb dep: 0213
Budapest arr: 0825

Runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11/6 to 27/8 only!

From the reports I know the train can be rather full so an advance reservation is recommended.

If you want to travel on other days or if the train is full, you can go overnight to Zagreb and then continue to Budapest:

Split 2137 - 0631 Zagreb
Zagreb 0958 - 1645 Budapest

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer.

I'm a newbie here, and I really need to buy this train ticket as soon as possible. I am from Brazil, so I have to this over the internet, and this is the only train ride I will need. What are the procedures?

Again, thanks a lot,
Guilherme

Hi,

you cannot buy a ticket for that train online. Anyway, there is no need to, you can do so at a station directly in Split as well. However, as this train only runs twice weekly it is usually booked well in advance. So, I recommend to use the Split - Zagreb night train instead and change there to a day train to Budapest the following morning. Again, you can buy these tickets at the station in Split.

Hi, thanks for all this information.

We need to get the night train the other way from Budapest to Split which apparently runs on Tuesdays and Fridays during the summer months. We plan to make the journey on Fri 13th July and have no flexibility so keen to try to book it beforehand. We are having trouble trying to do this online- apparently you need to book it from a station on mainland Europe? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi.
Either book it on your first stop on your Interrail trip (for example Paris) or try to book via DBahn in UK: +44 8718 80 80 66
You can't book this train online. :|
I hope this information will help you - and if you like railcc, support us and buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you. :)

Hi!

I'm hoping to get this train on wednesday 25th July from Split to Budapest. I understand that you cannot reserve it online but I cannot find this train on any website or train timetable at all! If we don't get this train we will have to change our trip plans and book hostels for later etc so just wanted to know if you could help.

Our first visit is to naples so are we best trying to reserve this train at this station? thanks for your help!

Hi Georgie.
This train is definitely running on 25.07.2012! Trust the railcc connections - and not these electronic schedules which do NOT have all these nice connections in their databases! :)
vred.hznet.hr/hzinfo/Default.asp?VL=.1205&category=hzinfo&service=izvr3&SCREEN=4&KO=SPLIT&LANG=HR
If the direct train is full, you still have the option to use a night train Split-Zagreb and then by day train to Budapest. So no worries, you will arrive in Budapest on the 26th. :)
And if you like the information on railcc, support us and buy your official Interrail pass here: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] Thank you! :)

Hello railccs!

I need to get from Split to Budapest - arriving in Budapest on Friday 21 Sept 2012. I assume summer timetables no longer apply at that time. Can you tell me what trains routes are available, and how best to book please? I'm not InteRailing btw (sorry guys!) - just need a one-way ticket.

Cheers!

Andy

daft simple-probably in this www-age too simple for youngies to grasp; just go to station, go to window, buy ticket-thats all. Contrary to popular belief, most trains on the continent are NOT ''full'' monthes before, in fact they are open to all-if you really fancy that, you can reserve. besides the few trains, there are also buses-MUCH faster-from the busstation right beside, ev 30/60 mins. to Zagreb.
Repeat process in Zagreb-go to the window marked international-just open eyes and follow signs. Due to some things too hard to explain, a single here cost more as return-as thats low priced (about 29€. But thats also quite often the case on what once was BR.
find times on any of the quoted rail travel planners-just fill in date, or any other that google will also spew out.
