Hey, I'm going interrailing for the first time this summer and was wondering whether I should take a rucksack or a holdall bag (which also has wheels). We're sticking to major cities and I'm thinking if it's the height of summer (July) it won't be particularly pleasant carrying a rucksack on my back.
Can anyone offer any advice please? Thanks :)

Hi ...
If you stay in the city centres, your hostels are in the city centres, then such a suitcase with wheels will be fine.
If you have to walk to camp sites at beaches, use small train stations with longer walks to your place to sleep, a bag pack will be useful.

Hi!
I am having the same problem about whether to use a rucksack or a wheelie suitcase. I am inter railing for 3 weeks and although I will not be going into the countryside at all (I am travelling from Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Budapest and then back home to the UK) I will be going to the festival in Budapest called Sziget. Therefore, I will have a tent and sleeping bag. Will a rucksack on wheels be too much hassle? I am a girl and do get very hot in the height of summer (we are travelling from 28th July) so I'm just conscious that I could find such a bag a lot easier than a heavy rucksack.
Thanks a lot!

Hi!
I prefer to have a rucksack (~65 litres). It is just more convenient for me to have my hands free, plus with its several compartments I can pack more organised and the straps on the outside are quite practical as well. :)

I'm also going this summer and was wondering what to take! I'm not a huge fan of backpacks so i'm taking one that has wheels. It's a 60 litre bag. I think it will be perfect for the cities but it'll also useful to have the option of having it on my back too!
