Planning on traveling by IR for the first time - two ladies age: 62 and 82and seeing this as an adventure. We would like to visit Lourdes, France as well as Basque country in general. Very grateful for all information as how to manage this. I know this might be a silly question but we are really lost for answers. Thanks in advance. :?:

Hello,

depending on the days you want to travel, there are different types of tickets: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-global-pass
I can give you some information concerning your journey.

Copenhagen-Paris: https://rail.cc/en/copenhagen-paris-train/f4037

Paris-Bordeaux: there are direct connections by TGV day trains

Bordeaux-Lourdes: if you do not want to stop in Bordeaux, you can use as well a direct train from Paris-Toulouse and change there to a free Regional train to Lourdes.
But there are as well direct connections from Paris-Lourdes: https://rail.cc/en/paris-lourdes-train/f4038

Lourdes-Biarritz: several connections per day.
A fast one is by an TEOZ train - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/france/fr
Lourdes Dep: 1516
Biarritz Arr: 1733

Biarritz-Santiago de Compostella:
Biarritz Dep: 0657 | it is the night train coming from Paris - sometimes the conductor will ask for a small supplement, but normally sears are free.
Irun Arr: 0736
Irun Dep: 0845 | Arco (ARC) train | https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/spain/es
Santiago de Compostela Arr: 2000

See as well: https://rail.cc/en/paris-santiago-de-compostela-train/f4039

So you see, you will need supplements for some trains.
All should be available at a main station in Denmark.

And if you want to support our project, buy your official InterRail passes at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
:)

If you have some more questions, do not hesitate to ask !!

Peter :)

If you want to spent the money, I can recommend you the InterRail pass 1st class. It is more comfortable.
But concerning night trains: it is as well more expensive using 1st class cabins. And for some day trains the supplement is a bit more but includes a meal.
If you decided your travel dates, the type of ticket and so on, let me know and I will give you more details.
All the best, Peter :)
