Hello everybody,
My boyfriend and me are planning to do interrail this summer for 2 weeks. We are living in Denmark but we want to end in Greece. It is our first time, so we donĀ“t know exactly what is the best option. We were thinking going through Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, Croatia and Greece.
Has anyone done something similar? Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

Hi!

Well...two weeks might be a little short as there is plenty to see along your route. I'd suggest starting directly to Munich with the Kobenhavn - Muenchen CNL train (skip Germany and go there another time - it's so close to Denmark).
From Munich, you could go to the Austrian Alps - Innsbruck (via Garmisch-Partenkirchen), then Salzburg (via Saalfelden). From Salzburg go to Ljubljana (Slovenia) via the Tauern route - use a day train if you want to see the alpine surroundings. :)
In Slovenia, main attractions would be ie Ljubljana, Lake Plitvice...then you'll have two options:
- Along the coast (moreorless) down to Split and continue with bus or ship to Dubrovnik and then to Montenegro.
- Or inland via Belgrad to Bar (Montenegro) and then with bus along the coast to Kotor

To continue from the coast to Greece you'll have to go to Bar anyway to catch get a train to Beograd and then further down to Nis/Skopje and finally Thessaloniki. From there you can continue down towards Athens and the Peloponnes.

Hope that helps for a first impression of a possible route. :)
