Hello there :)
Basically, me and couple of mates are planning a 3 month trip around Europe, and we are going to be using interrail as our mode of transport. All i really wanted to know was how exactly do you use the interrail card? Is it checked every time you go on a train? Or do you have to and see a representative at the train station? Any help would be much appreciated. We are going to be using the 1 month continuous cards, if that makes answering the question any easier.
Thanks,
Merrpip

Hi!
Basically you just hop on the train you want and that's it. And if the conductor shows up you just show him your ticket. However, there are some things to consider:
:arr: Several trains (high speed and night trains mostly) require an additional supplement/reservation that in general you need to buy before boarding the train. For a list of trains with compulsory reservation look here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
:arr: Together with your ticket you will get a travel report - you have to fill in every train you are using before entering the train (it depends on the conductor if he wants to see the travel report; but you should fill it in anyway because theoretically you could be fined for not doing so
:arr: When a conductor checks your ticket he can ask you for your passport/ID card. Again it depends on the conductor if he checks it but have your passport always ready in case he wants to see it.
If you have other questions, please ask. :)
