I tried to buy an Interrail ticket in Spain yesterday, but I was told tickets can't be bought in Spain at the moment. I had trouble believing the salesperson, but since he insisted he had called Madrid and Seville on this matter, I took his word.
I have to get to Paris since my flight leaves from there and train tickets there might cost as much as 400 euros. Compare this to 159 euros for an interrail pass.
Has anyone tried to apply for compensation for having to buy normal tickets?

Hi!
I don't think there is any possibility of refund or compensation for this. :(
When do you have to be in Paris?

Yea, I wish I knew about the possibility to buy the ticket online. I've used the Interrail system just to travel cheaper but I didn't know much about the system. Never before have I stumbled upon this site since haven't really planned my Interrail trips.
I have to be in paris by thursday and I already bought a normal ticket from Seville to Barcelona costing 200 euros. I don't want to know how much it is from there to Paris :D
I filed a complaint to Renfe since they are advertising a ticket they can't sell thus costing people to lose their money.

Oh, that's bad news. :(
Well, here's what I've found in a quick search:
Elipsos Barcelona - Paris :arr: 142,80€ for a reclining seat
or
get a Cercanias ticket to Cerbère and continue from there with Corail Lunéa :arr: 79,90€ for a reclining seat
Good luck

Thanks, flow ,for the prices. Getting to Paris was cheaper than I thought.
I went to a ticket office in Madrid and they would have happily sold me an Interrail pass. It seems that the problem was caused by an incompetent idiot selling tickets in Cádiz. I'm sorry to call him an idiot, but it seems he actually lied to me. The woman in Madrid was really nice though and even asked if it was possible to compensate my losses immediately.
I'll post something here when I know if I'm getting my money back. It might be useful knowledge to someone some day.
