Hi,

We are two well-travelled girls (NOT)!!! We are attempting to go interrailing in June for 2 weeks and are very excited!!! :D

We are thinking of flying from Dublin into Amsterdam then Berlin, Prague and Vienna. Is this doable in a short time? Could/Should we add another in??
Also anyone know of any good music events/festivals on around this time?

This is just initial thoughts, we are open to any suggestions!

Thanks! 8)

Hi!

For the beginning I'd recommend the following links:
https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route

Your best option ticket-wise would be the 5in10 flexi...fly into Amsterdam, spend a few days there and start your IR pass the day you leave for Berlin. For the return back home there is either Vienna Airport (Aer Lingus flies to Dublin from there) or Bratislava Airport (about an hour away).

Have a look at the following links for connections between the cities you've mentioned:
https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
https://rail.cc/en/prague-vienna-night-train/f1677 (there are also several day connections to Vienna as well)

If you want to make better use out of your IR pass, you could make one or two daytrips: Berlin > Hamburg, Dresden (which is on the route to Praha) or Wien > Linz, Salzburg, Graz. Also, you could make a stopover in Cesky Krumlov on your way from Praha to Vienna.

There are at least two festivals in Austria (not very far from Vienna) going on in June: NovaRock (Rock, Metal but other stuff as well) and UrbanArtForms (Drum n Bass, Electronic,...) - but I don't know about the ticket situation. Please check at their websites.

Hope that helps you for now - if you want to support the work here at the forum and website, please buy your official IR ticket at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] , thank you. :)
