Hey everyone, me and 3 of my friends are planning on inter-railing for a month in the summer, and we could do with a little help with our route.
any suggestions welcome!
cities we wish to visit, but not specifically in this order:
Amsterdam-Berlin-Warsaw-Prague-Budapest-Zagreb-Venice
We are getting the ferry from Hull (England) to the Netherlands so at the end of the 1 month trip we need to be back in the Netherlands.
As i said any help is much appreciated, and any hints tips or recommendations on where to visit or stay along the route would be fantastic!
thank you, Theo

Hi Theo...
It sounds good your planed route.
I added some cities and the links to connection information (also night trains).
It depends if you want to use night or day trains on some journeys... especially around Warszawa / Krakow / Prague / Vienna / Budapest, you can do this as well in an other order by night or day trains ... just use the schedule planer to find the best individual way for you.
Amsterdam-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
Berlin-Warszawa: Berlin-Warszawa-Express (EUR 4) - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/germany/de
Warszawa-Krakow: https://rail.cc/en/gdansk-warsaw-krakow-zakopane-night-train/f3485
Krakow-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/krakow-prague-night-train/f3847
Krakow is very nice. You will find a lot of students and bras / clubs there.
Prague-Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/prague-vienna-night-train/f1677
Vienna is definitely worth to stay. If you do not have too much time, Budapest will be the better solution as hostels are definitely cheaper.
Vienna-Budapest: direct day train - Railjet for example. No supplements.
Budapest-Zagreb: https://rail.cc/en/budapest-venice-night-train/f1387
Zagreb-Ljubljana: see schedule planer https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Ljubljana-Venice: https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663
Venice-Munich: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/venice-munich-cnl40236/36
Munich-Cologne: by free day ICE train.
Cologne-Netherlands: avoid the expensive THALYS trains. Use a free IC/ICE train.
