Who? My mate and I (21 and 22) are planning our next conquest.
What? An unforgettable adventure including electric nights, bliss beaches, interesting people and different cultures.
When? Early August 2010 (around 22days).
Where? The route we are interested in is London, Amsterdam, Munich, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Croatia.
Please get in touch to offer any helpful advice about locations, budgets, accommodation etc...or if your around at the same time!

Hi!
First question: Where are you from? If you are from the UK, note that IR is not valid in your country of residence. However, you will find good and quite cheap offers for Eurostar to Bruxelles and Paris online if you bokk them in advance.
Second question: Do you want to get back home by train or plane?
Anyways, this is certainly a nice route that should just fit in a 22day IR pass - you should be fine with the 10in22 so you can save a bit of money on that. If you need information on connections use the travel planner;
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
you will also find information in the relevant country topics on the forum .
I'd recommend doing Bratislava as a day trip from Vienna as there is not that much to do - also the train connections to Budapest are much better from Vienna than from Bratislava.
For Munich and Wien I can recommend the Wombat's hostels. :)
Talking about budget, I'd calculate with ~30-50€a day depending on your style of expenses. Take in mind that you will have to pay extra supplements on certain trains (ie night trains and high speed trains), have a look at the list

Hope that helps for the start. If you like the work here at the forum and website and want to support it, buy your ticket at [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] , thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, it is a great foundation for us.
You have made some fundamental points along with great direction for us.
Q1. Change of departure plans i.e UK residents. Shall look into cheap flights or ferry to Amsterdam.
Q2. Yet to confirm itineary home(UK) as it will rely heavily on our budgeting skills. Open to ideas although keen to hit a few places on our way home from Croatia. Was thinking Croatia-Austria-Switz-Belgium.
Once again the information you have provided is invaluable. Plan to detail our trip further before we purchase our tickets. We will be sure to keep you in mind though.
If you can offer any further advice in regards to nightlife hot spots and cheap booze as there will be an Australian on board.
Many Thanks,
Team Good Times 2010

Hi,
nice to hear that. :)
Q1. As mentioned you will find cheap online fares for Eurostar to Paris and Bruxelles (especially Paris is always worth some days). As an alternative there is the ferry Harwich - Hook van Holland: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
Q2. If you want to travel back from Croatia by train I'd recommend to plan for a month's trip to have enough time for all the places you want to visit. I'd recommend to stay at least two days at each city...although you can do ie Praha, Bratislava, München in a single day. But if you rush through every city you won't have time to relax (esp when planning to go out in the evening). ;)
