Hi all, I'm wondering if I am eligible for the InterRail pass. I think I am, but I want to make sure so that I won't get caught in some snafu.

So, by the time I want to travel (March 20th), I will have been a resident in Europe for just over 6th months (I moved from the US to Switzerland in August). I have a Swiss visa/residency card that was validated on September 3rd, 2009. My passport is American still, of course, and I went back to the States once for Christmas to visit family. Does it sound like I will have any trouble getting an InterRail? How do they establish residency in Europe?

Thanks so much!

Hi ...

Good news - starting from the 4th of March, you can travel Europe with an InterRail ticket.
Your Christmas holidays don't count for the ticket / 6 months. Important is where you spent your life the last 6 months, where you worked, ...
And as you can proof this by the residency permit of Switzerland you will have no problems.

Do it this way to get your official InterRail pass:
Go on [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Select the ticket you want.
Fill in as COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE: SWITZERLAND
And as PASSPORT NUMBER the one of your: US PASSPORT

Delivery is within 48 hours on business days by secure mail. At the same time you support all our work and the whole project.
All the best, Peter :)

Thanks so much! You really helped me out. One more question for anyone else who may know - is there any time pressure to buy this thing, or is it just as well that I buy it a week before I leave?

Hi Sam ...
No time pressure. :)
The delivery to Sweden is within 48 hours on business days. So if you order 1 week in advance, it will be perfect - you even have some extra time if the post man has a bad day. ;)
