Greetings. We are in Australia, travelling to Istanbul in May 2023. We want to do the night train from Istanbul to Sofia on 31 May.
Some questions 1) can it be confirmed it is running?
2) I cannot find where i can buy tickets on line; keep getting told have to buy from the ticket window at Sirkeci in Istanbul.
As we do not arrive in Istanbul until 23 May we are thinking it will be sold out by then.
Can sanyone update me on this?

2.ONLY at counter in TK. All OZzies seem to have extreme big fears about full trains monthes ahead=complete nonsense. No worries mate!
Train only has couchette=basic sleep. See also seat61.com, it starts at some bleak suburban stop in IST, where you have o go to by lcoal metro-type train, only with chipcard. Maybe a bus is mic eair and quicker-after all
