Hi ,
Need to catch the Glacier Express from Chur to St Moritz at 2.30pm on 14th April.
Is there a way to reach Chur from Salzburg before that time, leaving Salzburg on 14th morning?

yes, see for yourself at international electromic planner at www.oebb.at (probably even with some regional buses to reach the Salzburg station). Leaving Salzburg at 7:56 with change in Buchs (tight change but time enough to take the next one).

The tight connection isn't really a problem, you could miss it and cacth the next train to Chur (one hour later) and still be there in good time. But why the Glacier Express? It's a tourist train with supplement and compulsory reservation but by Chur it's already well past the most important sections, the final section to St. Moritz is also covered with regular normal trains. One leaves Chur at 14:58 and runs about 20 minutes behind the Glacier Express all the way to St. Moritz - and according to the Swiss planner it has a very useful feature of "Photo compartment with lowerable windows for outdoor shots" - something you can't do on the Glacier Express - and you don't need seat reservations.

He has a point. But foto's are in 2D. Looking with your own eyes is in 3D.

Looking with your own eyes through sealed double glazing can be more than 3D if you add the reflections of the people behind you! And the open windows also give fresh alpine air.....

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Since we have already reserved seats on Bernina, we will take the 7:56 am train from Salzburg.
Thanks again for your suggestions.
