Hej
Vad skall jag tänka på ifall jag skulle vilja åka tåg mellan Bangkok och Ho Chi Mine Vietnam. Åker till Thailand 28 feb. Och tänkte att man upplever mer med tågresor än att flyga.

mvh

1.it should be pretty obvious evident you have to pass Russia then-a country effectively in war. How they currently handle visa-bookings etc: no idea.
2.it should also be pretty evident you have to pass, if its Tagluffa bara- China-rampant with covid and with dozens of petty entry-rules you never even have thought of those could exist.
The theory on howtodo is-as we tell in about any Q with such a broad view: seat61.com
BTW_just returned last week fra THailandia-on emirates. Prices of airtickets have gone through the roof. But even then by train+all expense will cost a lot more.

Sorry misread. As is obvious-see no way to rectify/delete now.
Again seat61.com has basic info on what train run and what lines-and by far thats not the whole length. You can cross TH by rot fay (and note the old since 100 yrs main HuaLamPong station is about to close in 2 weeks from now for most express trains-till border with KHmer=Cambodia, there may-or moe likely may not- be a train across Camb till PnPN-bus to Saigon=HCMC< then the famous Reunification express via VN to Hanoi.
All in all not a shining example of what modern trains can offer-the 2 trains/day are purely slow local rot thammada, not even with AC. But extremely cheap. Also no worries about booking advance etc-simply not possible. For svenskarna: the new machine selling local tickets in HLPong first wants you to put in a ID_Thai only accepted!
Both Camb and VN wants a visa from you-pay in cash US$ at border. For VN also have to preorganize something that they expect you.
