Hi globetrotters :D
I'm Paul, I come from Normandy, France, I'm 18. I spend hours at College to learn a lot of things about our society in order to anderstand it and discover many cultures and differents way of life. So, thanks to Interrail Pass, I hope that I could open my mind and make my own viewpoint :)
But, I need some advices about my Travel routes because it's my first time ! ^^
So, Here my trip (August 2010) :
Inverness - Skye Island - Edimburg - London - Harwick - Amsterdam - Berlin - Praha - Munichen - Venise - Rome.
Is it possible ?
I will leave with 1200-1300 euros (Interrail pass 22 days included) - Is it enough ?
I'll sleep in Youth Hostel or Surf couching or outside (campsite) - your viewpoint, advices ? what do you think about Surf Couching ?
I'll travel thanks to Train :P , boat (london - amsterdam : price ? ) and, in scotland, for avoid to use my interrail pass fastly, I'll walk and hitchhike - is it easy and sense?
To concluded, Is it better if I travel alone or with a friend if I'ld like open my mind and jump into news cultures ?
Thanks a lot if you have some advices for a new INTERRAILLER :)
Happy New Year !

Salut Paul ... :)
A nice tour you planed... and here some information I can give you coming from my personal experiences.
This route should be possible with a 22 days pass. And 1300 EURO will be enough if you are also doing some couchsurfing. This is really nice to meet locals and to dive into the foreign culture - not really foreign, but you will see the pubs and bars of the locals. Much more fun! I recommend it! :)
On your journey Inverness - Island of Skye have a stop at the small station of Culrain. There is a hostel called Carbisdale Castle - have a search on Google for it. An old castle - on some nights they have special offers like Scottish Dance and so on ... nice to meet other travelers.
In Edinburgh try to sleep in the hostel which is in the main castle.
Harwich - Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
Amsterdam - Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
Berlin - Prague: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-prague-train/f3361
Prague - Munich: two direct day trains.
Munich - Venice: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/munich-zagreb-en-499/151
Venice - Rome: pay attention to the Italian supplements: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it
If you want to meet a lot of other travelers and use couchsurfing, it is better to travel alone. If you are two persons it is more comfortable, you will never feel alone, but you won't meet as much others.
And if you want to support our project and the forum and this answer, buy your official InterRail pass via our partner: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you.
Have fun and bon voyage... Peter :)

Peter Thanks a lot for your advices and your altruism !
So, I'll probably buy my Railpass thanks to your website :)
Now, I should find Surfcouching in each cities & some beds in Youth Hostel (which Youth Hostel (Hi Hostel, Hostel world ..)are the best (price and place)?)
Should I visit other cities ? or Should I avoid some cities (cost & boring) ?
Have a good night Globettroters :D

For Berlin and Munich I can recommend the two Wombats Hostels.

If you have the time, maybe add Vienna and Budapest.
All others you listed are good for a visit. :)

When i was in Praha, i went to Traveler's hostel travellers.cz/en/dlouha-pension-hostel-prague.php. Prices beginn at 11.2€ euro too 33€ if u want your own room with shower. Breakfast is included.
It is really close to the old town (charles bridge, castel, petit coté, jew neighbour), it's close to the underground as well, if you want to see the new Praha.
Maybe you can find less expensive, but as i stayed 1 full day, i had to be in the center.

That sounds very exciting! I have to second Peter's reccomendation: Carbisdale Castle is an amazing hostel to stay in. Very atmospheric (secret passages etc) and cheap. You just get the train from Inverness to Invergordon. Inverness is a lovely city and not really on the tourist trail.
Edinburgh, London, and Paris are very expensive in my experience. Edinburgh doesn't have to be though! All the major galleries are free (don't miss the Modern and the Dean which are just a bus ride away from the city centre). Also check our Forest cafe (just off George 4th Bridge) which does great, cheap food and free art and gigs. Also a lot of people who work/ hang out there couchsurf so it's a good place to ask around and get contacts if you're planning on surfing.
Hope this is helpful. Have fun.
in scotland, for avoid to use my interrail pass fastly, I'll walk and hitchhike - is it easy and sense?
I really wouldn't hitchhike... If you want to save a journey on you pass in Scotland book your Inverness to Edinburgh journey on the megabus megabus.com where it's only £5.50 if you book well in advance. The bus is 3 1/2 hours. The train is much nicer though.

For the Edinburgh - London part of your journey I can recommend going by Caledonian Sleeper, a direct night train. :)
