Given the train takes 9 hours would you recommend taking a flight between Belgrade and Sarajevo? I know it's not very green etc but it does save a lot of time. Or is the train journey worth seeing?

The bus is about 7 hours I think, and I think the train/bus is a much more interesting way to travel

I'd agree with that. Planes are definitely the least interesting way to travel. I'm just thinking from the point of view of saving some time. Think i'll leave it to nearer the time to decide. I also don't like the lack of flexibility that comes with being booked on a flight......

Yes, the website of Serbia Railways ZS shows the train still with the same timings.

It's a shame there is no night train for this route. Nine hours on a stuffy Serbian train through the searing heat is just too much to bear for me.
