Hello, Bonjour, Halleochen,

Indeed, it's the first time I found this page which is filled with very useful information. But I couldn't find the answer to my problem. Here we go.. I'm Indonesian and MSc Student in France since sept 09 financed by the scholarship of the French Government. Since the first time I came, I've already sent my documents to l'OFII (immigration dept etc in France) in order to obtain my visa de long sejour or resident permit. But they actually made a mistake and missed it to process my documents :'( . By the help of my university, at least, OFII sent me a letter that they have received my documents (with detailed info of me). It was on the 13nov09. Until now I haven't my permit yet, but since october I've already bought train tickets to Germany (Hannover) to visit my brother and old friends over Xmas. I'm now afraid that they check my passport and can't find the resident permit. But actually you can find my 1-year visa as student approved by the French Embassy in Indonesia in my passport. Do you have any advice or experience to share? Or documents that I should bring to prove that I'm legal here and just want to visit the country in which I've grown up?
Sorry for this long story. I'm kind of afraid and don't know the condition if traveling in Europe by train. :|
I hope, you can help me.
Thx.

cordialement, Mfg, sincerely yours,
:P

Hej hej ....
I am not a specialist... but out of my experiences over the last years: you are in a Schengen country - and you move to an other Schengen country. This shouldn't be a problem.
But no guarantee ...
Peter :)
