It appears that the Interrail experience is largely based on visiting large cities/towns. Any suggestions for locations covered by interrail that are more secluded and beautiful, away from such highly populated places? Preferably not France/Spain. Thanks!

Well...what are you looking for? Small towns and villages or landscapes/hiking/...? or both? ;)

- Plitvice Lakes/SLO
- Ligurian Coast/ITA
- Amrum/GER (preferably not in high season)
- Brno/CZE

You'll find lots of nice places all around Europe that aren't crowded with tourists at all; and even in places that are you can find quiet and beautiful places as well.
Don't avoid France - there are spectacular areas everywhere in the country where you won't find lots of tourists - try the Massif Central, Pyrennées,...

Hi Flo!

Small towns and villages yes, not especially interested in hiking but I'd certainly consider it! Have you any other recommendations?

The Plitvice Lakes look beautiful, have you visited them before?

J'adore France but having already seen it extensively I would prefer the try somewhere new :)

Yeah Slovenia would be top of my list probably, along with some less popular parts of italy (ie not Tuscany/Umbria). If youre looking for scenery maybe try the Julian Alps?
