Hey
First of all thanx for everything i couldnt even move my hand without you guys.
now i have a question
1)there is a connection from Madrid to Barcelona on 28.12.2009 HOT.
there is small note next to it:
hoteltrein/train hôtel
Subject to compulsory reservation, 1st class only, Global price, Sleeping-car
Does 1st class mean that you have to have a 1st class global pass??
and is the suppliment for these kind of connections for Seat 7Euro???
2)without a reservation you get into an ICE train and there is no place so do u have to wait for the next connection. would conductor kick your assss:=)???
THANX

Hi ...
1) About the night train ...
I am not sure... I know a night train Port Bou (French border) via Barcelona to Madrid. Is it a HOT now ?!?
Flow knows it better - I am sure. :)
Otherwise, the supplements will be like this:
https://rail.cc/en/train/madrid-to-porto
But I can also recommend you a day train AVE with a supplement of EUR 10 - running at least every hour- Travel time: 2:30h ... better to use an AVE and book a cheap hostel in Barcelona and enjoy the night life there. ;)

2) ICE is nice - if you don't get a seat just sit down at the floor - but if you avoid peak times, you will mostly get a seat. No one will throw you out of the train ...!!! :)

HOT 995/996 is a Malaga - Barcelona and vv service; in the current timetable there is no stop in Madrid but in the new one starting Dec 13th there is. :)
The service from/to Port Bou/Cerbere Peter mentioned is the Estr 373/370 from/to Madrid. ;)
Regarding the reservation - I think it should be possible to get reservations with a 2nd class IR pass also, but I'll try to verify that at my train station on Monday.
Peter already said everything about the ICE - I just want to verify that you are talking about the German ICE trains right?
