Hello!
Wondering if you would be able to help us out!!
Me&my friend are planning our euro trip for next summer and interrail is the best option for us.
Is the ticket just a discount of train prices? or can you use it as a sort of train pass?(meaning does the interrail ticket get you free of charge on any trains?)
also do you get discounts on ferries or any other kind of transport as we plan on visiting some of the greek islands?
ALLSSOOO is there any books you would recommend that we buy to help up organise/plan our trip around some festivals and events in different cities?
sorry so many questions!! were just getting started on planning so any help or info will be much much appreciated!!!!
Thankkyouuu!
from Anna and Emma :) xxx

Hi!

InterRail is a pass ticket - you can use almost all trains in the participating countries. There are some exceptions though: Certain trains (especially night and high speed trains) require an extra supplement which you usually have to buy before boarding the train. Also there are a few smaller private railways with a limited acceptance of the InterRail pass (ie you'll get a dicount on regular fares). You also get a discount on some ferry companies, and even a free ride on some Italy - Greece ferries (you'll only have to pay taxes etc).

To get started I'd recommend you to follow the link where you will find basic information. :)

I can't recommend a certain book but I guess you cant be wrong with a lonely planet publication. However, you will find lots of help here at the forum as well. ;)

If you have further questions dont hesitate to ask.
