Hi, I´m 22, British, working in Valencia, and thinking of visiting some friends in Basel and Amsterdam on the way home. I can get picked up in Dover, so I don´t need UK travel, other than getting across the Channel. I only plan on spending a few days at each stop over, and I´d travel between them as quickly and as directly as possible. Would it be cheaper to buy individual tickets for each journey or an interrail pass, and if the latter, which one?

For the prices of individual tickets, you have to ask at a train station.
But with a 5 travel days in 10 days you will have a very good deal - and I am 99,5% sure that it will be cheaper than single train tickets - as especially on long distances like you will travel, you save a lot of money with InterRail. As well you are more flexibel with InterRail. If you want to get cheap single tickets, you need to buy ones which are fixed on date and time - if you miss the trains, bad luck.
Go up from Valencia to the French border, maybe have a look on a cheap night train in direction to Strasbourg - then switch to Basel:

From Basel you have a good and free connection via Luxembourg - Bruxelles ( [u]https://rail.cc/en/zurich-basel-strasbourg-luxembourg-brussels-train/f2916[/u] ) to Amsterdam (use the free IC trains Bruxelles-Amsterdam, NOT the Thalys trains!!).

:arr: Use the option withour HST, then you have a lot of connections within 5-6 hours to Calais Ville. You will use free IC and free Regional trains.

Amsterdam Centraal Dep: 0954 (free IC)
Antwerpen Centraal Arr: 1200
Antwerpen Centraal Dep: 1206 (free IC)
Lille Flandres Arr: 1353
Lille Flandres Dep: 1403 (free Regional train)
Calais Ville Arr: 1520
