I'm planning my first trip to Europe for June 26th-July 8th 2010. My boyfriend and I are flying from NYC and have chosen to start in Amsterdam, as it seems to be the least expensive option.
Once we get there, though- I'm not entirely sure where to go- I don't want to spend a ton of time or money traveling. Is Amsterdam-Berlin-Paris a plausible route concerning time and money? As a first-timer, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you :)

hej hej ...
as you are from the US , you will need an EURAIL ticket - I am not specialist for it, but have a look here: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] and click the US link. :)
there are a lot of different options available - more flexible than InterRail (which is only valid for Europeans).
these three cities are really worth visiting - but then won't be cheap ... have a look at [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] to get an impression about hostels prices.
if you can chose where to fly to from the US and from where to turn back, start in Paris, travel to Amsterdam and end up in Berlin.
if you book early, you can even avoid traveling by an railpass, have a look on special offers of the Thalys train (thalys.com) and for special offers Europa Spezial Niederlande (Europe special for the Netherlands) of the German national railway - you can get a ticket for EUR 29/39 ( [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] )
as well for the night train CNL you can get cheap offers - but you have to book up to 3 months in advance for a fixed date.
if you have time, I recommend you as well a stop in Brussels or Cologne or Hamburg.
have fun, Peter :)

And the spirit of InterRail slowly fades away... :|
