I'm going interrailing for a couple of weeks without a tent or camping equipment etc. just clothes, toiletries, maybe my sleeping bag (which I can carry).
The only rucksack I have is 65l but I don't fancy slogging it around and I'm going to attempt to pack fairly lightly.
I've got a day bag which has space for a camera and book and all that stuff.
What's the smallest rucksack I could get away with?
Or could I even just take a small suitcase around with me?!
Thanks.

hi ...
the past year I often used a suitcase with 55 litres - but as well to put my sleeping bag inside, photo, laptop and so on ... and after 10 days, I just washed one washing machine with all my clothes in a hostel (always between 3-5 EUR per machine including the washing powder).
my opinion is: if you only travel inside cities, not using a tent, a suitcase with wheels is sometimes really comfortable.
Peter :)

I did just over a month with a 65L bag, so I'd say you could probably cut that by half and go for a safety zone of around 40L.
Baring in mind (be realistic) you'll wear the same t-shirt for 4 days in a row and don't even fool yourself into thinking you'll be changing your jeans lol.
