Hi, We are planning a tour which begins from Poland and ends in Estonia with my girlfriend. We live in Kiev and will be departure from Kiev or Lviv by train. Since we want to see many places we will stick with trains till Estonia, from Estonia we will be heading home flying..

We will sign up for Poland visa, is this enough for us to go to the mentioned countries? As much as I know, Ukraine is not included to interrail, is that a problem? or can we basically buy our tickets from any rail-ways? What are the fares travelling from each country as:

Poland to Lithuania
Lithuania to Latvia
Latvia to Estonia

Although we don't have a route yet, I think we will be going till the border of each country.

Since we are a couple, we want to sleep in a private room, one bed is enough. Which solution would you suggest? What are the prices for hostels per night?

And the last question, could you please share your opinions, recommendations and tips on our route? Where to go, how many days to stay etc.

Thanks.

Hi ...

There is only POLAND which belongs to the InterRail countries.
So I recommend you not to buy an InterRail ticket, buy normal rail tickets or even do your travels by bus in these countries - you often have better connections.

Have a look at this topic to find some more information:

For hostels have a look here: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

I hope this will help you a little bit - I can't give you more details, as I only know details about rail travel in the InterRail countries... ||

Thanks for the reply.

It did help to gain some information. I've searched some info about rails and buses and come up with these prices which are very decent.

Trakiszki > Sestokai > Vilnius = 6 euro
Vilnius > Riga = 15euro
Riga > Tartu = 15euro

Now the only problem is with hostels, I checked the prices from the link that you gave. Private rooms start from 20 euros. I'll be staying with my girlfriend; for 2 people it costs +40 euros/day. Do you think this is a decent price? Any chances finding cheaper? Otherwise I'd add some more fund and stay in a hotel.

thanks for the information.

about hostels: it is expensive if you want to sleep in 2-person-rooms... then it is indeed often cheaper to stay in a cheap hotel.
if you want to stay in dorms (till 6-8 persons it is still okay), you can save money - as well you will meet a lot of other travellers - but it depends on you ... and of course if travelling as couple, it is nicer to have a own room.
the hostel link I gave you are the normal fares...

Peter :)
