hello I'm completely new in the interrail stuff, i just have a couple of questions, will help a lot =).
a)when i buy a interrail ticket, this means i don't need to pay any more thing, or is a discount card?
b)i just need to show the card and aboard the trains?
c)if i don't have the time to order it via internet, can i buy it at the train stations? (Berlin in particular)
d)with the card means i have automatically have a seat on the train?,the trains have beds?, how can i have a bed?
thanks a lot in advance
Frank. =)

Hi Frank ...
Here is an interesting link for you: https://rail.cc/en/first-interrail-tour/f3303
a) Trains are free - on some you have to pay a supplement - some high speed trains and on night trains for a seat or bed: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
b) Yes, just board the train, show your card (you have to fill in your route from departure to the destination / travel day) and if needed the supplement. That's it.
c) Yes you can - but not recommended. As there was already a lot of wrong printed tickets this year. Better to order an official InterRail ticket online via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - at the same time you support our project and all the work, for example answering your questions. :) Delivery is by express (48hours for Europe on business days) and secure mail.
d) No. You do not have automatically a seat. But if travelling in autumn, you will get a seat in general as there aren't too many travellers any more. If a train needs a supplement, you automatically have a seat as well. For night trains you need a supplement for the different types of cabins, beds, seats, ... Just have a look on the country topics of this forum, where you will find nearly all night trains with their supplements for Europe. :)
Have fun and sunny days, Peter :)

... the best route planer to use is this one: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
forget the one of the website you talk. ;)
if the ticket is send to you, take it and go to the Hauptbahnhof ticket office.
there you show your InterRail ticket and ask for a ticket to leave Germany (mentioned here: https://rail.cc/en/berlin-belgrade-beograd-train/f3367 ), as you can travel for free in your country of residence (is it Germany??).
then write down the travel times and trains you want to use (see link above - the trains I mentioned) and ask for reservations. there you will also see the supplements you have to pay. :)

oh you are from Mexico ... so you can NOT travel on INTERRAIL - you have to buy an EURAIL ticket: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
check it if it is available for Serbia (Belgrade) ... do you only want to travel Berlin-Belgrad - only this single journey? then forget about Eurail and InterRail and buy a single ticket.
if you can travel on Eurail, buy the ticket via the link above. then go to Berlin main station and buy the reservation for one of these two connections. you can't buy them online.
the train Berlin-Budapest is free - only the night train Budapest-Belgrade has a supplement like mentioned... :)

hi Patrick ...
you should get the ticket at the main station in Budapest. but definitely (!!!) pay attention to get a correct one - an IRISH InterRail ticket!!!
I definitely recommend to order it online - as there was already a lot of wrong printed tickets this year when bought at stations or agencies. ||
for the ferry: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-greece-italy-patras-bari-ancona-venice/f1348
have fun, Peter :)
