It is my understanding that there are different passes for Europeans (or people that have lived in Europe for six months or something) and non-Europeans. My question is, can a European travel with a non-European? Will there be any conflict? How does that work? Thank you very much!

like Ian explained and the links he gave you ... just to add: no problem to travel together. supplements are in 95% as well the same for night trains or high speed trains. both tickets are coming closer and closer the next years. there are a lot of Eurail+InterRail travellers travelling together. no problem! :)

Dear ,

My husband is non European , I am !!!!!!!!!!!! He will have a permit to stay in my country(Belgium) for 5 years once we move back to my country in march.
Lets suppose we move in march to Belgium and we want to travel in june, we both need seperate passes to travel?? Eventho we are married and he lives with me in Belgium?Do we really need to wait 6 months in order for him to travel on interrail instead of eurail?

Thank you so much

Hi Nat ...
You really need two different passes - even if you are married.
If your husband get a Belgian passport, he can immediately travel by InterRail, without having the six months collected.
As long as he has a Non-European passport with a stay less than 6 months in Europe (Belgium), he will need an EURAIL pass.
Sorry for this rule - but I can only explain it - we are not the persons making these rules. ;)
But it is no problem to travel together side by side in the same trains: you with InterRail, your husband with Eurail.
Official InterRail passes are available via: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Official Eurail passes via [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux]
All the best, Peter :)
