Hello, I'm planning my second interrail. I would love to travel through Scandinavia. I plan to fly to Helsinki, travel north to Rovaniemi, take the free bus to Lulea in Sweden, and travel south through Sweden to Stockholm. From Stockholm, either to Norway or Denmark.
I think a 10 days travel in 22 days ticket would be the best ticket option for me.
My first question when I get to Lulea in northern Sweden, is it possible to travel onto northern Norway from there to either Narvik or Bodo. from there I would head south to Oslo. I see a train line from Lulea to Narvik but it does not go south to Bodo.
I have more questions but I will start with this.
Thank you
Peter

Hi Billy ...
definitely nice tour you plan ... have a look at the country topics of Finland, Norway and Sweden...
https://rail.cc/en/finland-sweden-bus-kemi-tornio-haparanda-lulea/f1287
Then continue by train to Narvik.
From Narvik go by bus to Bodö: https://rail.cc/en/bodoe-narvik-hurtigruten-lofoten-bus/f1285
and then continue by train down to the South. Definitely worth seeing the nature there!

Thanks Peter, My trip is going to be cut short by a few days but I think I can still see a good bit in the 19 days I will have.
Another question, are any of the trains linking the major cities in Scandinavia high speed trains?
Thanks again..

19 days is okay... you will see a lot... :)
yes... in Sweden for example the X2000 is a high speed train. have a look at the https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation supplements section where you will find all the details.
have fun, Peter :)

Can I purchase my ticket from the main train station in Helsinki?
or if I order it today off this website, would it arrive to me in Ireland before sat 5th September?
Thank you.

hi ...
sorry for the late reply but I stayed at the InterRail Event 2009 in Vienna and didn't had time to check the forum .
but if you order today via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] , the ticket will arrive at your home within 24 hours in the UK and within 48 hours in the rest of Europe - by secure mail.
at the same time you support our project here with the forum ...
have a great time travelling Scandinavia - I always enjoy it there !!
Peter :)
