Hi I know im posting this a bit late but here goes, me and my friend have bought a 30 day 2nd class IR ticket, and go on wednesday, we have booked our flights for going (5th august) from Amsterdam and our return flight on the 7th september from Geneva in Switzerland.
Just wanted to see if people thought our route was do-able
Netherlands (amsterdam) --> Czech Republic (Prague, using night train, not too sure how much it would be about though) --> Poland (Krakow) --> Slovakia (maybe) --> Hungary (budapest, hopefully while Sziget is in full swing) --> Croatia --> Slovenia ---> Italy --> Switzerland
does this seem realistic or would anyone suggest anything else / or anywhere specifically to go in these places, also does anyone know how much the night train might be from Amsterdam to Prague
Thanks
Lauren :P

Hi Lauren ...
Night train Amsterdam to Prague:
I can recommend a stop in Berlin - definitely worth... even if it is only for two hours. The main station Berlin is just 200 metres away from the Reichstag (government of Germany) and 500 metres away from the Brandenburger Tor (the past border between East and West Germany / the symbol of Berlin). of course you have to see and do a lot more things. for example the part of the town called Friedrichshain with a lot of bars, young people and so on ... :)
Krakow, Budapest and Ljubljana... definitely worth to see... in Croatia, go to the coast and use one of the cheap buses to go along the coast. nearly everywhere worth to stay - but you need a tent then to camp. except you make day tours and stay in a hostel of the bigger cities: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]
Switzerland: Geneva and Zurich ... as well Basel are good to visit ... but not cheap...
have fun, Peter :)
