Hello, 2 of my friends and me are thinking about interrailing for the first time next summer.we will be 18/19 when we undertake the trip and we would like to travel for 1 month. We are from Ireland, so to start our trip we will probably fly to some of the Benelux countries or northern France to begin our rail journey. we are thinking of this. Amsterdam - Bruge or Brussels -i would like to go to Normandy to see a few WW2 sites but we will decide on that - Paris - we would like to go through the Loire valley to see some chateaus also, then on to Marseilles - we would then like to go along the coast of France and Italy down as far as Rome, then back up through center and east Italy to Venice and we might also go to Milan and Lake Garda (the Italian leg of our trip will be the main part and we will take as long as it takes to see what we want there). From Northern Italy we will then go trough Switzerland, were we would like to go on some scenic railways as the Swiss alps are also a main part of our trip. From Zurich we will then go to Munich were we would like to spend a few days in the Bavarian alps possibly do some hiking. Next we would like to go to Vienna, but if it is too much we could take this stop out, then on to Prague. From there we would like to go to Auschwitz and on to Berlin. We could finish in Berlin or we could go on round to Amsterdam and fly home. Do you think this trip is realistic in 30 days and what do you think my budget would be after purchasing my interrail ticket? This is a rough plan so any thing we might see or not like along the way may change it. I am open to any suggestions of things we may be missing out or if it is too much. Also as it is our first time any other tips would be much appreciated, thanks. Conaill

Sounds like a lot, but it might be doable depending on how much hiking etc you want to do.

As far as budget, youre in western europe so things are expensive, perhaps €1200-1400 depending on whether you camp everywhere, eat out etc

yea we're thinking of doing a mix of both camping and hostels, and maybe a few night trains. I can't wait to next year! Also, does anyone know when the database will be updated so that i can look at each of the countries?

Hey, myself and a mate are going from Ireland for two weeks in the Summer. We're flying into Vienna. From there we hope to see Bratislava, Ljubjlana, Zagreb, Salzburg, Munich and Zurich in that order. Does that sound like too much?

Also, is there any of these places you would change to make the journey a more enjoyable one? Please note, we must start in Vienna and finish in Zurich. Everything else is open to alternatives.

Thanks for the help in advance.
