I want an opinion on this...
my idea was to do this route:

Lisbon-Madrid-Barcelona-Marseille-Nice-Milano-Venezia-Munchen-Berlin-Amsterdam-Bruxelles-Paris than straight home to Lisbon passing by Bordeaux and Madrid.

my idea is maybe not stopping in every place but at least visit Madrid for a couple hours than head to Barcelona.
if I get out of Lisbon in the night train I get to Madrid around 8 A.M. than I could head to Barcelona by the afternoon and sleep there, maybe spend 2 days or something there and head to Marseille in a night train (it's a 8h:40 min travel), than spend some days on the beach in Marseille or Nice than go to Milano, check it out and go to Venezia and stay there for a couple of days too. From Venezia to Berlin passing by Munchen is a long trip, around 13 hours... but once I get to Berlin I could stay there for a some days too then head to Amsterdam (which is the main city I want to visit :D )
stay there for a while, maybe 4 or 5 days, then go to Paris stay there for a couple days too then head home without stopping, it takes like 2 days if going directly home.

what are your thoughs/ suggestions on this route?

can it be done?

I'm going with at least one more friend but he trusts me in planning the route.

greating.

ups I forgot Bruxelles... I don't want to spend that much time there, maybe to stop for a couple hours before going to Paris.

hi ...
you can do this tour ... but at the beginning it will be hard. good to have more time in Berlin and Amsterdam - two really cool European cities with a lot of fun, clubs, bars, parties !! :)
in Berlin go to the part of the city called Friedrichshain ... a lot of bars and young people on the streets - really relaxing. and always ask at the hostels for where to go out at night.
just to add: if you did not slept regular for 2 days, you will see: the stops for some hours in cities like Munich etc. will be only stress - my experience ... or am I simply to old ?!? :o
have fun, Peter :)

thanks Peter, really good to hear your confirmation!
I will go next year or so, but I really need to plan the route carefully and with a lot of time before the trip, because me and my friend(s) are students and really don't have a lot of money to spend, and since we don't have any material at all yet we will spend a lot on that too.

I will search for hostels and camping sites (damn I love camping :P ) near the cities we want to visit thoroughly.

I will keep this thread updated if we decide to change the route or just to ask for your opinion.

thanks!

And Simon (SiDUDe) found some good words I love (cant remember exactly) - after packing your backpack: Halve your baggage and double your money - and you will have a good InterRail tour.
