Hey,

I think an InterRail site is a marvellous idea and there's a lot of need for one. However, when it comes to this site, there's a lot to improve.

For example, if you look at the thread categories, who ever the admin is, could see a little trouble to make at least the spelling right (capital letters etc.). And what comes to those thread categories, you should have cathegories like:

*Searching for travelmate (I think that's the one wanted the most)
*Feedback / Suggestions (to help to improve this site)
*etc.

At the moment there are too many, too specific categories like ticket, equipment, connections, accomodation. I mean, how much do you think there'll come discussion on such specified subjects? All of the mentioned could go simply under a category called About InterRail in general / General discussions about InterRail / etc.. Propably it would even generate more and wider discussion about the subjects.

Anyway, the idea of having an InterRail site is splendid, let's just not ruin it.

Oh, and what come's to the accounts and profile's, it'd be if one could actually add some photos, write some describtions on themselves and share their interests with other people. It would be much nicer and easier to do some valuable networking with people.

I'm going InterRailing somewhere in the beginning of August and I'd like to meet some people with whom to network and perhaps catch up somewhere in the Europe ;)

I'm 21 years old finnish guy and I'm gonna make a little European tour since I'll quit my work and before my school is about to start :)

Best Regards,
Lentovalas

Youre pretty much describing the brand new site thats coming very soon...

I agree some of the spelling and grammar should be cleaned up on especially the stickied, important threads.

Thanks for the feedback

Good points but.... if you just had a General topic people would end up posting everything and anything whereas havin specific topics enables people to post a certain question/help topic for others in a certain place otherwise it'd end up something like this......

Ticket Info
Travel Routes
Equipment
France
United Kingdom
Accomadation
Germany
Interail Ticket
Equipment

etc etc etc etc

hej ...
good to have such feedback ... and yes, a lot will be new with the new website starting in August.
as well with profiles, photos, search for travel partners and friends... a bit like the facebook thing.

about the topics of this forum here ... the forum is now running since some years - and I thing it is a good structure - my personal opinion - but open to discussion.
I have the same opinion like Ian.

about the spelling - sometimes I correct it - but my native language isn't English ... so sometimes my English sounds a bit funny like Simon would say. ;)
with the new website, I will change the permission rights of the moderators of this forum like for example Simon and all others which then will be able to correct the spelling of some topics. I prefer it myself as well, to have it the correct way.

always keep in mind: the railcc project is a personal thing - not a big anonymous company. I just skipped my job and developed the last year the new website - and we all try to live from.
would be nice if people would in future reward all this service and work (by buying the ticket via our website) - so that as well the moderators of this forum can get some money to travel, collect more information and give these experiences to other travelers.

leave your comments - give us feedback!
Peter :)

It's best to keep it as it is in terms of the forum as people know it and its quite easy to find information and reply about other peoples posts like me ( I'm not a moderator/administrator), just got some time on my hands and help best i can.

It'd confuse people if it was all in one big list nobody would know where to find anything.......
