We'll be taking the eurostar from London to Paris, and from Paris interrailing to Switzerland, Italy , Cannes and back to Paris.
Can you recommend a city to stay at in Stwitzerland and in Italy that would be on this route? Also some information on the trains that run to/from each city so I can book in advance when necessary.
I've attached a map with the general outline of where we want to go. I'd really appreciate some help on this as the cheap eurostar tickets are selling out fast!
Thanks,
James.

I was thinking of Bern in Switzerland and Turin in Italy.
So Paris > Bern > Turin > Cannes > back to Paris.
I'm trying to find useful information on booking reservations, etc.
I tried the rail-passshop site that was linked to here:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
but it gave me an error every time.
Please help!

Unfortunately you cant book reservations on line at the moment. Either do them at a main train station, from a travel agent (who will charge commission) or by ringing die Bahn or SNCF etc

not sure about france but in Switzerland you don't need reservations for the trains unless its a night train (a ridiculous idea in a country so beautiful!). Their network is vast, fast, regular and often empty. Go to sbb.ch to check trains.

can I also recommend a stop in Ticino, in the south of Switzerland (italian speaking region). Locarno is great, and a day trip to Vallemaggia is beautiful.
