As it is my first time travelling abroad, alone, I have an idea of where I would like to visit, have read numerous guides such as eurpoe by train, europe on a shoestring etc, but would be so grateful if I could ask for any advice or criticisms with what I was thinking. I am planning on travelling for approximately two weeks (5 in 10days Interrail pass) with time either side if I fly out or back to the UK.

Ideally I will travel in between the period 23rd July - 7th August, (which I realise is very soon!) but it could stretch to the week later. Being a female on my own, as well as my first trip round Europe, my plan was to travel to: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Paris, Lyon (and possibly Geneva for a day but I'm not sure that's possible in the time.)

As yet, I am unsure whether this is feasible in the time I have, and also whether it would be best to work my way north or south? I would love to spend more time in Paris although this fits in the middle of the trip and so would eat into the 10 days.

Because I would also like to try and book accomdation in advance, being the height of summer, I'm unsure of just how long to spend in each place. For example if it would be better to spend longer in Bruges than just a day trip from Brussels for example (I guess this also depends on which is cheaper as I understand Bruges to be fairly pricey)? Are there any places I have missed out which would be worth visiting within the short space of time?

I hope that isn't too mismatch and that I have explained to a reasonable extent what I would love to do and if anyone might be able to offer any advice or help that would be really great!

Thank you.
