Hi Interrail forum people - looks like a nice forum .

I am travelling 15/7/09 - from Montpellier to Barcelona. I have a Global Pass for the period.

I would like to take the high-speed tain if poss.

7:26 from Montpellier, but I could take a later one. However if I try to book it, I can only get the full fares, it won't take account of my Interrail card.

My Girlfriend and I have run up over £30 of booking fees by ringing rail Europe when we couldn't get the Website to work - I don't know how they calculated it but that's what they've charged!

Is there any way to book a seat on this trip (or a later equivalent) without paying an additional booking fee (I don't mind paying the high speed supplement)?

Many thanks for any help...

Does your trip start in Montpellier? If not make the reservation a few days earlier at a SNCF station. :)

Oh really?

We're going from London-Paris-Geneva-Nimes-Montpellier-Barcelona...

I was just worried it might all be booked up by then.

My idea is to then take a ferry to Sardinia... can you use Interrail round there too?

Sorry for the dumb questions... Thanks for the quick response :)

you can use the ferry, but you will have to pay the normal fare.
all ferries on which you get an InterRail discount are listed here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry

If you are spending a few days in Paris, Genève, Nîmes, it shouldn't be a problem making the reservation for the Talgo at Paris Gare du Nord (assuming you arrive by Eurostar).
