Hi,

I want to go to Istanbul by train. I already found my way up to Thessaloniki but then ist get's a bit difficult. I'd like to travel by day. On the hompage there is a day train (http://www.tcdd.gov.tr/tcdding/avrupa_ing.htm). Does anybody know how it works. Do I have to change trains at Pithio. And how many time do I have? Is it difficult to catch your connection? The greek train page doesn't work. And all I found in the internet is at least one year old. Can anybody help me?

Thx

hanhan

I just find that you just wrote about the day train between Thessaloniki and Istanbul. But still my question remains: Do I have to change trains in Pithion?

I don't know if this is the same connection, but travelling with the Friendship-Express Filia-Dostluk-Ekspress should not be that complicated.
Please visit the following page for more information:

couple of years ago there was a morning train that you had to change in Pithion but i think this route is not valid anymore so your only option is the Filia-Dostluk-Ekspress as sevim wrote above..
