Me and the girl friend are travelling from Greece to the south of France on the Interrail pass and have roughly 20 days to do it.we are considering either spending 5days in one location in Italy after paying the Greek ferry ourselves and the starting the 5days in 10 day pass travelling to south of France and then spending 5 days there.(20 days)
do people think that is do able? mainly the 5 days travelling time to get to south of France?
is it it worth just getting the 10in 22 day pass and doing it that way?
also any route suggestions would be appreciated with time frames in mind.

does Venice really smell that bad this time of year?

Any help appreciated.

Hi.
you have to calculate what is cheaper:
1) to pay the ferry yourself and travel on the 5 in 10
2) to travel by ferry for free on the 10 in 22
(pay attention as the ferry is not free, you have to pay a port tax and season supplement in summer - like above as well on individual tickets):

and have a look on the schedule planer, it should be no problem to reach Southern France within 2 travel days: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
but avoid the expensive supplements in Italy:

you will easily find free regional trains - slower, but you save a lot of money!
