Hi Peter,

I am a citizen of the netherlands and I will be buying a interrail pass this summer. At the end of my trip, I have to get from Paris to Utrecht. My question is, is the pass valid in Belgium or not? Is my country of residence (where I cannot travel for free) just the netherlands, or the entire Benelux?

Oh, and what is this half-price rule that I have been hearing about?

Thank you,

Tamar

Hi Tamar ...
Your country of residence are the Netherlands - not BENELUX.
Benelux only exists as ONE Country Pass but hast nothing to do with your country of residence: so free travel in Belgium! :)
For the way from the Belgium-Netherlands border until Utrecht you can buy a normal single train ticket with a discount of 50% - you will get it at a station (for example at Brussels on your way back).
Have fun, Peter :)
