Can I just hop on a train with my pass?

Hi,

I'm confused - if a train does'nt require a reservation, can I just get on it straight away in the station, or do I need to go first to a ticket desk and show them my interrail pass?

2 days to go! :P

Just get on the train if it doesn#t require reservation. :)
