Hi!

I'm planning an interrail this summer, starting late july.
I've already been around Europe, and have therefore decided to check
out great britain. I'm planning
on picking up a regular interrail ticket, and therefore have 30 days
before I have to be back in London again. This is my first attempt at a route:

(The number is the sum of nights i'm staying in each city)

Route:
London 3
Brighton 2
Bath(+Stonehenge) 2
Cardiff 2
Dublin 3
Belfast 3
Glasgow 2
Loch Ness 1
Aberdeen(+Orkney islands) 2
Edinburgh 3
Newcastle 2
Manchester/Liverpool 2
Wolverhampton 2
London 2

My concerns are that I'm only focusing too much on the big citys.
Especially in Ireland. I'm concidering to skip change Glasgow or Brighton
with some outback/small towns in Ireland or Wales.

Any comments?

I would love to hear about some YOU CANNOT MISS THIS PLACE places that I haven't included yet,
or tips to places to go/things to see!

Best regards
Ben

I think the most obvious place you've missed would be York and I really don't understand why you'd want to go to Wolverhampton! Other things worth considering are that Aberdeen is a long way from the Orkney Islands, I think it's around 10 hours on the ferry, although it might be quicker to get a train further north then take a different ferry. If you can fit it in (and like nature, scenery and that kind of stuff) then I'd recommend going to Snowdonia or the Lake District. In general though I think you've covered most of the places to see with that route :P

if you have time and you are close to Loch Ness, go a bit up to the North from Inverness to Culrain - there is a cool hostel called Carbisdale Castle - check for it at google. :)

2 nights in Wolverhampton, lol

Im biased, but id say come out to the cotswolds, nice small towns, good walking, good pubs. But lots of Japanese tourists on coach tours

Maybe make some time for Devon and Cornwall, after Bath or Brighton and before Cardiff

Wolverhampton :D

Maybe Birmingham for a night out, it is close to Wolverhampton

hi,

i live in wolverhampton...trust me there is nothing to see! 2 days in far too much, utterly pointless when you have places like manchester!!
