Hello

I am going on Interrail this summer with a 10/22 days ticket. I am thinking about going from Rome to Venezia in the morning of july 13th at around 9 o´clock and the train will arrive in Venezia at 14:50. Then I will see Venezia for a few hours and depart from Venezia to Ljubljiana at 21:32 and I will arrive at 01:41. Will this be count as 2 days of travel or hopefully only one day :?:

Also, how do I know on the route planner what station to select in the drop down box, like do I pick Venezia Mestre or Carpenedo etc. How do I know wicht station is best located for me, can i see that on any site?

And at least, does interrail ticket work on any underground train station or on buses in any european cities :?:

I am trying to learn a little on this route planner and for example I never get the same times Peter gets when he is asked about some routes when I put it in the route planner, I am wondering why :?:

It will count as 2 days.

Santa Lucia is the station you want, mestre is on the mainland

The ticket is only valid on the national rail networks, with some discounts for some ferries

It is not valid on undergound, trams, busses etc

You might be trying dates too far ahead, when the timetable hasnt be updated for yet

And other questions. When going from A to B and you have to change trains like 3 times, do you have to pay supplement/reservation three times or only once? What if according to the route planner the train is working in the underground system, does interrail ticket work for that to?

And if I will go to Zagreb, Krakow and Ljublina insted of going to Amsterdam, Nice and Wien won´t my trip get much mora cheaper (Hope) :o

Now it isnt long until my Interrail and I am getting stressed about it, I feel like everything will go wrong :) I hope this is normal reaction for first time interrailers :)

Wow, thanks for the quick response, awesome :P

But if the train would arrive in Ljubljiana (according to the timetable) would it then only count as one day?

Because I will be doing that from Nice to Milano and from Milano to Firenze? However I will be using the 19:00 rule and I will be arriving in Firenze around ten o clock. That must only be one travel day right :o

the 1900 rule works so that you put the following day down, not the day you leave. Eg, you leave on the 20th (and the only train you take on that day is the night train) you can put the 21st down. You can use any number of trains on the 21st.

You have to pay the suppliment for eacht train you go on, but remember, there are almost always ways round travelling by trains that have suppliments

Hi.. I have question about which interrail ticket should I buy if:

I live in Switzerland and my interrail route would be

start: 31 July 19.27 Zürich -1. August 09.43 Barcelona

End 22.August 11.05 Bari - 22. August 22.51 Zürich

My question is, can use the 22 days continuous or I have to buy the 1 month continuous :?:

Because as my knowledge the interrail doesn't count for the country of residence and I also don't need an extra ticket for switzerland, since I have a swiss rail card that allow me to travel freely strating 19.00 in Switzerland.

Thank you very much. :P

It could be tricky since the Pau Casals leaves Geneve at 2335, so technically you probably will have to buy a ticket till the next stop, perpignan.
However since you have to pay the supplement for this train anyway you might get through with your IR pass and GA.
