hi all,
I'm from ireland and the problem is that i wont be getting my passport renewal back until the thursday before i fly out on saturday night. That leaves me no time to order my global interrailing ticket as DHL don't deliver saturdays as far as i'm aware for these tickets.
Therefore i was wondering could i fly out on saturday and get this ticket over in prague at the station before i move on to krakov?
Do i need only my passport to do this?
Does it take long to get a global inter rail ticket at a station?
Would it be better to order it by internet over in prague and get it delivered to my hostel?
which is cheaper?
Thanks
Peter

hi ... go to the main station in Prague at an international ticket window - you will get it, even if it takes a while. check the data at the ticket.
it is definitely much safer and easier to order online - but in your case. you won't have any problems. but the last weeks there was sometimes the answer at ticket windows: you can only buy an InterRail ticket at the country you live - that's wrong. just to keep this in mind. :)

Hi
i have the same predicament as sceto above, just wondering what the price difference is if there is any between purchasing it from rail pass shop on the net and buying it at the station?
Thanks

a difference is that you only give your money to a ticket window - you won't get any support at all - and sometimes persons selling the ticket at stations do not understand the InterRail-system at all. so always check your ticket - be prepared to have problems when buying it in a country which is not your country of residence. ||
and just to mention: purchasing your official InterRail ticket via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] supports this website and all the help you get. :)
delivery is by secure mail and express-delivery (next-day-service or 48hours-express ... depends on where you live in Europe).

I had purchased my ticket from the [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] online but they made a mistake in printing the incorrect date of birth on my ticket eventhough I had supplied them with the correct info! And when I called on monday I was told they were going to re issue a new one immediately and that I would have it by yesterday at the latest! But no delivery yesterday, I called again and they realised that they had actually forgot to re issue the new one, so hence I have to try get one out there! :| BUt hopefully I shouldnt have to much trouble!
Thanks for your help Peter!

maybe this was one of the bad days... one in 1000 ... ;)
but at least you see: you always have someone to contact - not an anonymous web company - always real humans! :)

Hijacking this thread, hope its okay :)
Has anyone actually done this recently? Buying the IR-ticket in another country at the railway station?
In my case, I'm thinking of buying it in either Bucharest or Budapest, not sure yet. But since i have no experience at all from buying tickets in a foreign country, I'm getting worried about misinformed staff who maybe will tell me it's not possible.

I got several mails this spring and starting summer that people got told: it is not possible to buy the IR ticket at a foreign station - this is not the truth - but a lot of them got problems.
but you can try it - if it won't work, go to an other station or ticket window.
like I mentioned above. IR is something special. the easiest way is to order online. :)

Hey Peter
Do you know if I can buy the Interrail pass in the Polish currency online and get it delivered to Iceland. Or is it only possible to buy with Polish currency in Poland?
Because if buying it with the Polish currency, the Interrail ticket for me will probably be about 30-40% cheaper wich is a lot!

Hi ...
If you want to buy your ticket in Polish currency, you have to go to Poland - but in general: the ticket price will be adapted to the EURO currency monthly. As the Polish railway company selling the ticket has to give the money to the main European administration company for InterRail - so I am sure, they won't waste money and lose a big value.
