Hi, am currently planning a 1-2 month trip around Europe.
Have decided that Interrail is the best way to do it, and so far we've picked out the places we'd ideally like to visit. Some of them are pretty mammoth distances apart, but we're happy to include plenty of stop overs etc to get where we want to.

Just wondering what people thought of the route, in terms of how long we might need to do it- is it possible to get interrail tickets which are valid for over a month etc etc.

So far we're thinking of:
UK- Paris>Barcelona (including stops in Bordeaux ) Madrid> Granada> Venice> Istria> Vienna> Budapest> Prague> Berlin> Frankfurt> Liege> Amsterdam- UK

It's quite a big trek, but we have a lot of time and really want to get stuck in.

Any tips on this route or advice would be so greatly appreciated.

Cheers :P

looks like quite a good route - the distances arent too great.

You cant buy a ticket valid for more than one month but you can buy more than one ticket and use them one after another. I would give yourself about 5 weeks to do the route sensibly.

My advice would be do some initial research into train times and suppliments - just so you know what to expect. The only tricky journey i can see would be granada to venice, the rest look pretty straightforward.

And more importanly, have fun!

Quick question for anyone who has been interrailing a few times now...

Me and my boyfriend have been planning our route and are happy with most of the journeys... but there's one bit we're stuck on.

We fly to Paris tomorrow, then are getting an overnight train to Madrid, then travelling to Barcelona.
From Barcelona, we want to make our way to Venice... but looking at the timetables etc, it's quite a complex journey for us to make so early in our trip when our confidence is low.
We've been looking at somewhere en route we can travel too which is nice. We first looked at Geneva, but it doesn't have a lot that we would want to see.

Could anyone reccomend a good way of getting from Barcelona to Venice, with a 1-2 day stop over somewhere easy to get to?

Thanks!!
