We, me and my 2 friends, are most likely going to fly to London in the begining of August, planning to stay there for few days before we start our trip and end our trip in Bologne where we'll also stay for few days for our flight home. We will buy a 5 in 10 ticket.

This is our plan for 16 days.
London -> Paris
Paris -> Amsterdam
Amsterdam -> Munich
Munich -> Rome
- (Maybe one quick stop in Innsbruck if our train goes through there)
Rome -> Bologne

Can anyone help us estimate how much the surcharges will be for average fast routes. We have never traveled by trains so this is quite confusing for us. If we understand this right we'll have to pay 45euros extra, just for the ride from London to Paris.

Just that surcharge is more than we ever thought we would have to pay on surcharges for the whole trip. :))

Thanks in advance.

If you dont take the Eurostar and take the boat instead it can be done for much less https://rail.cc/en/ferry-london-paris-england-france/f1222
Paris to amsterdam for free: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-amsterdam
Amsterdam to munich there is a CNL, around €20 for a couchette, so similar to a hostel
Munich to rome there is another CNL, so the same for a couchette
Rome to bologne can be done by free local IC's

Ok thanks for the response...

So to make sure I understand this correctly, when using CNL we don't use our interrail pass? Which means we can use these 2 of these 5 free rides somewhere else instead? Or are these 20 euros for couchette surcharge on top of the interrail pass?

its on top of the interrail pass. If you didnt have it youd have to pay for a ticket + €20
