When you see the red symbol DB of the Deutsche Bahn, you can use it with your interrail ticket.

But you can NOT use the U-Bahn or buses !!

:)

i think yes, because eurodomino is contracted with DB too and no exceptions should be... so Berlin, Hannover, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Koeln, Hamburg, whatever S trains with °DB° is for your service:)

Hello everybody, this is my first post here and i didn't know where to make it...

Anyway, I'm from Portugal and i'm planning to make my first InterRail in Zone C and i plan to get a plane to arrive to Berlin...

I couldn't avoid to read this thread topic, and after 1 week brainwashing my brain in DB and Berlin websites i wonder:
What the difference between U-Bhan and S-Bhan? Is one of them underground and the other on surface?

I don't really get it...

S-Bahn is something like SubUrbanBahn
U-Bahn is something like Underground

but this means nothing - in Berlin a lot of U goes above the ground (especially out of the ring lines), and a lot of S (lines 1-2 almost always) goes underground... so you must watch carefully...

S usually goes out of the City, and U - almoes only inside the city and really short distances... :) mostly specialized...

P.S. in Berlin most places to visit you'll reach with S 1,2,7,8 back and forth combining :)
