Hi everyone,

I'm new to this, so i'm sorry if these are stupid questions!...

I would like to do the following:

Morning - travel from Vienna to Bratislava

Afternoon - travel from Bratislava to Vienna

Evening - night train from Vienna to Venice (departing after 19:00)

The question is will this count as 1 days travel or will it be 2 because of the arrival in Venice on the following day?

My other question is does each day of travel give you one journey between 2 stops? Or does 1 days travel mean you can travel between as many places as you like on as many different trains, as long as you are finished travelling within the day?

Thanks very much,

Nick

hi Nick...
2 travel days: the rule is only valid if you use a night train after 1900h - then you can fill in the next day.

you can use as much trains as you want on a travel day.

Thanks Peter, that's very helpful.

So just to clarify if the first train we take on day 1 is a night train after 19:00 we log it as day 2, but if we've already taken trains on the day 1 before the night train the night train arrival counts as day 2 of travel?

Thanks very much!

correct!!

you can only use the rule of 1900h for night trains when using a night train after 1900h - fill in the date of the following day and use more trains on this following day.
you can not use the rule for trains you use on the morning, afternoon of the departure of your night train.
