Hey people,
My girlfriend and I are leaving in a week for our first eurotrip by train. I haven´t fully understood how it all works though. We are starting in Berlin and want to go from there to Prague. However, when I look at the available fares (Eurocity) which take about 4,5 hours it says please reserve. Do this mean i have to reserve or is it just a recommendation? And also will that fare cost us any extra, and if it does, how much?

It will cost you extra, probably ~3€, but the term Bitte resevieren doesn't mean a reservation is mandatory. Depending on the day and hour you may consider making a reservation but you can take the train without having one anyway.
