Hi,

I am really confused about the trains.
Firstly, this business about loosing a travellingday.
Secondly The supplements/ surcharges, what does this mean?
Thirdly where can you not use your IR pass?
Fourthly, I am leaving from London to Paris, does this mean I need to buy a seperate ticket?

Thanks

Claire :P

If you have a restricted ticket (10 in 22 days, for example) you can only use trains on 10 days, in a 22 day period. Also note:

Many high speed and overnight routes require supplements. The vast majority of them are listed on the website and forums.

Some (very few) private railways. They are listed on the site. The IR pass cannot be used in youre country of origin (the UK for example), although you can get a 50% discount.

The supplement for the Eurostar is very high, comparable their cheapest normal tickets. Therefore you may be able to save a day on your ticket and not waste any money if you can get a cheap advanced eurostar ticket.
