Hi there!

Has anyone had any experiences (good/bad) about just 'jumping' on a TGV Train in France with a reservation? What does the conductor do or can do? I've heard that he/she charges you a higher price than at a station but has anyone or knows of anyone being kicked off before? Or does he/she sells a reservation/supplement regardless?
Hope anyone can help
Just wondered if just 'jumping' on a train was possible if you were prepared to pay the higher supplement onboard

hi ...
it definitely depends on the conductor.
if there are still free seats available you have to pay a higher supplement.
but the easiest and cheapest way is just to but a supplement which you mostly get for EUR 2-3

And how do I make a reservation on the internet? I don't see the option to say I have an interrailticket, so I can travel with discount.

Waiting for your answer! Maike

hi Maike ...
it is not possible to buy these supplements via internet for InterRail travelers. the SNCF doesn't support this.
and as well with their limited seats available for InterRail travelers per TGV train, they do not really give European travelers a nice impression. but that's their view of opening their services for European travelers - just my personal impression. ||
you can buy these supplements at stations in France but as well a lot other countries with borders to France (Germany, Netherlands, ...)

Does anyone know if I can buy a TGV reservation at a station in England? It would be much easier for me to have my TGV booked before I leave London. Many thanks.

In the UK you can buy your supplement for the TGV via [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf/reservation[/ux] ... :)

I tried this last week, jumping on a TGV without a reservation. It was from Hazebrouck to Paris Nord (on the way from Calais to Paris). There were plenty of seats left and I told the controlleur [in broken French] that I didn't have time to buy the supplement at the station. He was very nice about it and I paid 5 Euro for it in the end.
