Hi, Peter.
I have a question.
I am planning to use Italy pass to take train E 1938 from Catania Centrale (22:04) to Napoli Centrale ( 06:19) on 22 June. But I do not know why I cannot find the trip on that date, only for travel dates before 12 June...
This is an Espresso train. Do I have to make a reservation in advance? How much is the fee?
And this is an overnight trip, but it is not a night train. So I do not know if I can follow afer 19pm rule or not.
For instance, I get on the train on 12 June, and arrive at Napoli in 13rd morning. Which date should I mark in my 4-day Italy pass? Both or just 13 June?
Thank you so much!! :P

The Espresso is not listed in the train planner as there is a minor change in schedules throughout Europe (as in every June) and the Italians seem to be quite lazy to update the online information (as usual).
You shouldn't need any supplement on this class of train but a reservation might be sensible (but is not mandatory).
The term night train is not clearly defined; this one (like most Espressi in Italy) is a full standard night train with sleepers, couchettes and seated accomodation.
You can use the 1900 rule with any direct train after 1900.
However I fear that the rule isn't applicable with the One Country Passes - but I'm not a 100% sure about this. :|

just adding this to Flows already perfect answer: the rule is also possible to use with the ONE Country pass. :)

Flow and Peter, Thank you so much!!!!
Now I see.
One of my friend said the staff in Italy sometimes are confused by themselves. He was charged 9 Euro fee on train when he was told in the station it was free to hop on...
Wish I won't meet any trouble there!!
Thanks again! :P
