We usually fly, but my partner has developed a heart problem where this is forbidden!! We have accommodation booked in Berlin from 19th - 23rd June, and are trying to find the best way to get from Linlithgow, (a small town 15 miles from Edinburgh - with a railway station!), to Berlin, and back home again. Advice from all will be most welcome! Thanks - alljan :|

Well, you either need to get a train down to London and take the Eurostar from or there is a daily overnight boat from Newcastle to Amsterdam (www.dfdsseaways.co.uk) and then there are direct day trains to Berlin. As you dont get any discount with IR on this boat, and travel in your own country isnt included it probably will be cheaper to book single point to point tickets.

I think as well the ferry solution like Simon proposed is the cheapest solution.
train connection Amsterdam to Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
